Happy Butterfly Birthday...

Here is another one of the butterfly cards - can you tell that I quite like this design!!!  This design is great for what I call my 'stock' cards (or more appropriately called my 'panic' cards!).  You could make up quite a few at a time, but don't stamp the sentiment.

Make sure that when you make the cards, you punch out the oval and the coordinating label and keep them in a clear bag all together, then when you come to use it, you have everything you need!!!  It sounds great in theory, I just now need to learn to practise what I preach!!!

This card was for a lady that is very special to my mum, so from one special lady to another!!!  I hope she liked it.

I promise that my next post will be something that doesn't involve butterflies!!!

Lovely Card For A Lovely Lady...

Here is a card that I made for one of my lovely card club ladies who mentioned that she had a special birthday coming up!

 

 

The colours are Crumb Cake and Tangelo Twist.  I love how big and bold this looks.

Happy 60th Birthday...

I just wanted to share this one with you - it was my cousins birthday back in September, and when the invitation for his party came, it had this beautiful picture on it from when he was younger (quite a bit younger!!) The picture reminds me so much of my Ollie, that I really wanted to incorporate it in to his birthday card some how.

My most loyal customer (you know who you are!!) sent me a picture a few weeks previously of a stunning card she had found whilst 'surfing', and I used this as my starting point.

It was quite time consuming as I cut each wooden plank and sponged the edges of each one, to give it more depth.  The 'rust' was made using white card and sponging with Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.  I then used the Gorgeous Grunge stamps and added Baked Brown Sugar and Tangelo Twist (recommended colour was Cajun Craze but I haven't got that - yet!!).

I'm really pleased with how it turned out, and I hope it made my cousin smile when he opened it!

 Will be back tomorrow with some more christmassy bits!

Sponged Wetlands

This is the second card I have made using the Wetlands stamp set. I like to try and showcase different techniques and this card shows off generation stamping (stamping more than once before re-inking - the rushes at the bottom of the card), tearing (the top panel) and sponging (to give a more aged look).  This card was CASED from Claudia Perrys blog. 

This card could be used for a number of different occasions, and I actually used this one for my Uncle's 65th birthday.  I added the numbers from the Memorable Moments stamp set, but forgot to take a photo before it was posted to him!!  I've now got to make another of these cards tonight as this is the second card that we are making in this week's card club!
