Sheltering Tree - Thankful for You...

As promised, here is the second offering using the brand new Sheltering Tree stamp set from the Spring/Summer catalogue.  As yesterdays card, I have embossed the bicycle but in Soft Sky this time.

The green is Wild Wasabi, and the tree branches have been stamped in Early Espresso.

The sentiment is also part of the Sheltering tree stamp set, and has been mounted using the Extra Large Oval Punch and the Decorative Label punch. I've also used the Project Life Corner rounder and added a bit of Linen Thread.

This is the second card of January's Card Class, so if you'd like to come along, just contact me ali.cornish303@hotmail.co.uk.

Happy New Year!!  See you in 2015!

Beautiful Blushing Bride Blossom...

Morning all!  Well, today I thought I would share with you my first make from the brand new Spring/Summer catalogue that is officially launched on 6th January. One of the many benefits of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is that you get to play with the new products ahead of the launch date, and here is my first offering.

When I saw this set, I knew I had to include it in my first order as it is so versatile.  It is called Sheltering Tree and is a Photopolymer set.  You get lots of different elements so that you can make cards that suit all four seasons of the year.

For this one I have used Blushing Bride embossing powder for the 'blossom' and the bicycle frame, plus some Blushing Bride Bakers Twine.  The 'happy birthday' sentiment comes from the Something to Say stamp set.

Check out tomorrows post for the next card in the collection!  This stamp set will be used for my January Card Class, so if you are local to the North Devon area and would like to come along, just contact me ali.cornish303@hotmail.co.uk for further details!

See you tomorrow!

Happy Christmas To You...

I know it's Christmas Eve and everyone is really excited, but in the Stampin' Up! world, it is doubly (is that a word?!) exciting as the brand new Spring Summer mini catalogue launches soon.  Alongside the launch of the mini catalogue comes the very popular Sale-A-Bration special offer - amazing free gifts with each purchase of £45 (if you spend £90, you get two free gifts!).

I won't go in to too much detail today as I really should go and finish wrapping pressies (yes, I am a last minute kinda girl!).  Spending Christmas with all the family - starting tonight with dinner at Mum and Dads, and then 16 of us tomorrow at my sisters!!!  This is the first time she has hosted - let's hope it's not the last!!  Boxing Day with my Mother-In-Law and my 97 year old Super-Nanny-In-Law!!!! Can't wait!

I just thought I'd share a little something I made for my sister to thank her for Christmas Day.  She is one of my favourite customers, and has made place settings for tomorrow using the Festival of Trees stamps set, and stamped it it Hello Honey.

This is my first attempt at stamping on a candle and if you look closely, it's a bit over done, but it was really easy once I got started and the next time, it will be much better!!!  Here is the link that I watched before I started.  I hope she likes it!

Well, I could sit here and ramble on but I wont as Christmas won't happen if I don't get wrapping!!

Have a wonderful time and I'll be back soon - hopefully before next year!

Little Pressie for Teacher...

Here is a picture of a little pressie that I put together for Ollie's teacher.  I don't usually do teacher Christmas presents, but I have been so pleased with his teacher this term. She is brand new to the school, but has made such an effort to get to know him.  It can take Ollie a little while to settle with new people and new surroundings but he has settled really quickly thanks to his teacher.

A really simple gift to make - Snowman Soup!!  The mug is filled with hot chocolate sachets, marshmallows and a couple of candy canes.  I thought it was quite cute - hopefully his teacher liked it too!!

5 more sleeps...

School Christmas Cards...

If you've read my little 'About Me' section on the right hand side of my blog, you'll know that I am a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School.  Back in the summer, I had a stall at an event that was attended by one of the teachers who didn't know until then that I was a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  We got chatting and thought it would be quite a nice idea to start a card club at school to be held on regular lunchtimes for some of the more vulnerable children that may find lunch times quite difficult.   Well, here are the results!!!

The kids have been amazing and are really proud of what they've made (so am I!), and they have been selling the cards in packs of 5 to their parents!!  As you can see, they are all quite simple ideas, but they look really effective.  The robins tail and the penguins wings were made using the Modern Label Punch!!!

Which one is your favourite?!

Christmas Wrapping...

I have a very special group of girlfriends that I met about 15 years ago, when we all worked together.  Four of us had our first child within 5 months of each other - great for us, but not so good for our employer!!  We've kept our friendship going over the years, and do try to get together for birthdays and meet up with the children in school holidays.  I always host the Christmas get together as, not only do we have food (I ordered a Chinese this year - is that cheating?), I always do a Christmas craft.  Last year we made a decoration, the year before we made silk brooches, but this year had to be a Stampin' Up! effort!  Well, here is what we made.  It had to be quite quick and simple as we spend a lot of time catching up with each other and just chatting about anything and everything!!

These are actually the bags that I made as my camera wasn't working when the girlies were here so I had to take these after they'd all gone home!

These are so simple to do - all you need is the Petite Cafe Gift Bags and the Under The Tree Accessory Pack from the Autumn/Winter catalogue.

I've added a little detail with the Endless Wishes stamp set.  Don't forget, products from the Autumn/Winter catalogue are only available until 5th January.  Click on any of the product images below to go straight to my online shop!

Happy Wrapping!

Christmas Craftacular - Speed Crafting!!

Here is another of the events that I have been involved in over the last couple of weeks.  It was a fundraising evening, raising awareness and well needed funds for North Devon Against Domestic Abuse.  It was quite a manic evening, with 80 ladies taking part.  There were four crafts on offer - ceramics, dry point etching, needle felting and papercrafting with me!  Each lady did two crafts which meant there were 20 people for an hour, half an hour break and then another 20 ladies for another hour. Luckily my sister came and helped me - she also helped me prep all the card and ribbon which was quite a task in itself!!

It was a really great evening, and everyone looked as if they were enjoying themselves - the most important thing is that over £800 was raised for NDADA.  A great big shout out goes to my dear friend Nicola and her husband Martin, who organised and ran the entire event - check out Nicola's website over at www.handmadeinnorthdevon.co.uk.

Lots of people have been asking when the next one will be, so they must have enjoyed it!!!

More news from me soon.

Where does the time go...

I can't believe that 10 days have gone past without a blog post (slap my wrist!).  Life is hectic, as always, but I din't realise it was that long.
Well, I'll do my best to make up for it with a few pictures of why I've been busy....

Last week I was kindly invited to hold at workshop in South Molton for the 'Women Do Business' group. It was held at KK Design Originals in Griffins Yard. Firstly, it was a pleasure to meet everyone, but secondly, the venue was amazing!! Thank you so much to Kath for letting us hold the workshop at her shop/studio. If you like anything at all to do with sewing, you must visit KK Design. She holds workshops to make the most stunning pieces, and you can find all her details here...

We used the Endless Wishes stamp set and everyone made a card and a little gift box (Tiny Treat box).

These Tiny Treat boxes are fantastic value for money at only £6.25 for 25 boxes.  I think they're great so  my challenge for this Christmas is to find little presents for everyone!

More details of what I've been up to coming soon!

Last Weekends Activities...

Here is a picture of what I got up to last weekend!  My dear friend Sarah came to play and brought some of her friends too!  It was a really lovely evening - with just the five of us there was plenty of time for a bit of stamping and a lot of chatting!!

Everyone made a card, two gift boxes and a matching tag using the Endless Wishes stamp set and the Tiny Treat Boxes and the Kraft Boxes.

If you have a group of friends that would like to have a creative evening together, just let me know. I can tailor the project to suite your requirements!

..And Finally...

This is the last card in the 5,4,3,2,1 Christmas Countdown.  It is the most detailed of all the cards, and everyone will make one card in the workshop.

When I first saw this card I thought it was quite complicated, but actually, when you start putting it together, it is really straight forward. and I think you'll agree - it looks great!!

The sides have been concertinaed to create the depth, and the snowmen have been highlighted with Dazzling Details.

As always, the products used are listed below.  Click on any of the product images to go to my online shop!

How are you doing with your own Christmas cards - has anyone finished making them yet?
