Apologies about the lack of posts this week - I've been a bit side tracked with the last week of summer holidays, trying to cram in as much fun as possible!! Not a crafting post to share with you today, but a very special post for me. As you know, my blog is called Acorn Papercrafts, and previous entries have explained where that came from (was called Ali Cornish before I got married). Well, today we had a visit from my husband's Uncle Andy (and now my uncle!) from America, and he brought me a surprise - well, two actually! They actually belonged to his late mother Joy, and were originally clip on ear-rings. Uncle Andy's wife, Auntie Merle (are you keeping up?!) took them to the jewellers in America and had them converted in to charms for me, one to wear on a necklace and one for my charm bracelet! I had absolutely no idea about it and they were almost identical to a pair of ear-rings that I nearly bought for myself. It was a bit of a hairs on the back of my neck moment! I was a little bit emotional because they belonged to Andy's mum, and he thought to pass them on to me. The acorns have real sentimental meaning for me, and so I will treasure them.
Once again, thank you Andy and Merle, and thank you Joy - your acorns are safe with me!
