Strawberry Fields Forever….

It was my mum’s birthday earlier this month, so here is the birthday card I made for her.

I really enjoyed making the strawberries, and thought it would be nice to co-ordinate everything.

There was a new shop opened in town a couple of months ago, and I bought mum a voucher so that she could treat herself, so made a matching belly-band to tie everything together!

Here is everything all together.  I was quite pleased with how it turned out - I think mum liked it too!

I used the retired heart punch to make the strawberries, but the new Sweetheart Punch will work equally as well (I just don’t have it – yet!!).  The leaves have been made using the Petite Petals Punch and the ‘seeds’ could be made using the gold Dazzling Details.  The flowers have been made using the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch set, and the centres can be made using the Brights Candy Dots.

My ever faithful Hardwood stamp came out to play – again! – plus a little twist of Linen Thread and it was done!

I hope you like my little burst of sunshine today!

Delightful Butterfly...

As promised, here is another colour combination of yesterday's card.  This card uses Delightful Dijon and Tangelo Twist.  I have to be honest and say that I have found it quite a challenge to use the Delightful Dijon, but I am really liking this combination.

The butterfly is cut using the Bold Butterfly Framelits.

I was looking through lots of cards on Pinterest to get some inspiration before I made these cards, and the card that caught my eye the most appeared on Julies blog - my SU upline!!!  Well, that didn't really surprise me as I find her work a constant inspiration - I only wish I could find more hours in the day to play more!!

One more post with some alternative colours coming soon....

Missing In Action...

Apologies for the lack of posts recently!  No excuses other than life just got in the way!  Thought I'd share with you a couple of things that have happened over the last month...

Number one child has finished primary school and takes the next big step in to secondary school in September.  Madeline has turned in to such a confident young lady, and to say I'm really proud of her just doesn't come close to how I feel!  This is her at the end of her last day, after getting all her friends and teachers to sign her school blouse!

The other big event has been Ollie's 9th birthday.  If you saw my Project Life blog post last year for
his 8th birthday, you'll remember that Ollie is a big football fan.  Well, this year, he wanted another football party, so here he is...

I promise there will be some crafty posts soon!!!
